Running the QB Refresher utility worked on any user profile where no company files were opened before.

Since we used a local admin account to connect and work on the file QB began behaving _after_ running the QB Refresher.

When the user came back from lunch and logged back on QuickBooks would open, flash the Community Help page, and then crash.

Okay, that was weird.

Quickbooks

We removed QuickBooks from the system. Versions 2016, 2017, and 2019 were installed.

Post reboot QB would still crash at the same spot.

Description:
An unexpected error has occured (sic) in “QuickBooks: Premier Accountant Edition 2019”:
DMError Information:-6123Additional Info:The server we are attempting to attach to can’t be found

Now that we are down to having the crash isolated to a specific user profile, the problem must lie within the user’s profile itself.

To fix that, we have a How-To here in this blog post: Windows Server and Windows Desktop: How-To Reset a Local User Profile or RDS User Profile Disk

Once we ran the process to recreate the user’s profile everything worked just fine.
